Homes on Chestnut Court were the first waterfront models offered for sale by Deltona when the island officially opened in January, 1965.
The Emerald Beach Condominium, the island's first beach front complex, was completed in 1966 and featured a covered parking garage, swimming pool, lounge, card room, and social room with fully-equipped kitchen.
The Marco Beach Hotel and Villas was completed in 1971. It was sold to the Marriott Corporation in 1979.
